Irish television viewers may know him best from the RTÉ drama Raw, but Kevin Ryan has been making quite a splash in the United States too with the BBC America series Copper.

The Dublin-born star has also caught the eye of Hollywood executives after signing a new deal with the talent agency ICM Partners, according to the entertainment website Deadline.

It caps off a very successful year for the now Los Angeles-based actor.

He starred in the award-winning Irish movie ‘Songs For Amy’ as the pop singer JJ Fitzgerald, which was filmed in Galway and New York.

He currently plays Detective Francis Maguire in BBC America’s first original scripted series Copper, which focuses on a group of young Irish cops in 1860s New York.
