Well where do we begin with this!? It's all kinds of great

First, some background: The Strypes are young Irish band from Co Cavan who've developed a huge following and if you haven't heard of them yet then you're really missing out.

So anyhow, Foo Fighters' lead singer Dave Grohl is presenting Chelsea Lately this week and he had Elton John as a guest on the show.

And who did they spend half the interview chatting about? The Strypes of course!

Fast forward to 4:40 to watch them sing the young band's praises:

Elton can't speak highly enough of the lads from Killeshandra:

They have a knowledge of r'n'b and blues at 16 years of age that I've only amassed in my 65 years. And they're playing music like the Rolling Stones used to, or Odd Birds or The Beatles, and it's astonishing to find kids of that age who want to play music like that.

It's pretty amazing to see two music greats speak so highly of the lads. However Elton made one comment I've taken great umbrage to, 'They live about an hour and a half south of Dublin.' ...

South!? Come on now Elton!

Anyhow I'll forgive you this once because The Strypes' great talent and your kind comments are putting Cavan on the map. Even if it is on it in the wrong place.
