A Co Mayo island, which was owned by a star of 'The Secret Millionaire' Irish television series, has been sold for more than €2.85 million.

Nadim Sadek bought Inish Turk Beg in Clew Bay for €1 million in 2003 and spent the past decade transforming it into a €9 million playground for the rich and famous. The island boasts five houses with leisure facilities, a working farm, a boathouse with pier and orchards.

The property listing states that the main residence, Island House, has six bedrooms, reception rooms and an adjacent leisure complex 'with a gym area, games room, cinema, céile hall, large indoor heating swimming pool and jacuzzi, surrounded by external terraces.'

According to the Mayo News, the buyer has been named locally as Joanne Margossian. She is currently based in the US and the UK, but will set up permanent home on Inish Turk Beg later this year.
