Belturbet in Co Cavan

Cavan seems to be an infinite resource for these quirky local stories and today, Northern Sound have provided us with yet another.

There's big news in the town of Belturbet today with the announcement that their public toilets will be reopening. 

With it being the year of The Gathering and all, and Belturbet being home to the annual Ginger Fest, the toilets will remain open for the summer and remainder of the tourist season.

When speaking to the radio station regarding the news, Fine Gael Councillor Barry Wilson said:

'There is money needed to be spent on the toilets down there but they're not that bad, and it's better to have toilets opened than toilets closed.'

And there was much rejoicing:
