Twins, triplets and multiples: hold on to your identical hats because Twin Fest 2013 is returning to Sligo this summer. This year's event is being organised in conjunction with The Gathering 2013 and organisers are hoping that Irish twins from around the world will come home to help raise much-needed funds for meningitis awareness and support charities.

The mother of Cork conjoined twins Hassan and Hussein Benhaffaf, who hit world headlines two years ago when they underwent a gruelling 14-hour surgery in London to seperate them will act as a patron of this year's festival.

Angie Benhaffaf says she is delighted to accept the role:

I love being a part of something so special and meaningful especially as it honours the memory of one very brave and much loved child, Katie Garvey, who sadly passed away from Meningitis. 

We look forward to returning to Sligo this August to see our many dear friends once again. Being a part of Twin Fest Ireland is amazing and I urge all twins & multiples young and old to make a journey you will never forget to the village of Keash this year.

It got us thinking: what famous multiples could organisers persuade to come and celebrate Twin Fest 2013 with them? Some, like the Olsen twins are known to everyone, but others like Scarlett Johansson and her twin brother Hunter may come as a complete surprise. It certainly did to us!
