17 things Irish people could never give up for Lent
Lent is upon us, so say goodbye to chunky bars of chocolate, bags of salty crisps and indeed, general fun. For the next forty days, you will be expected to survive on water and cardboard... and watered cardboard. They can take away our pride, but they will not break our spirit!
Having said all that, if you're planning on giving up something, it's probably junk food, cursing or homework-related. But there are certain things that an Irish person cannot, nay WILL not, give up for anyone. We've got some of them below:
