Floods, famine and an Ice Age: The history of the Irish landscape

For us geography nerds Derek Mooney's new show Secrets of the Irish Landscape, which starts on RTE1 this evening, is a must watch as it explores the history of Ireland's landscape. 

The three-part documentary series takes a look at how Ireland was formed and 'Historians, archaeologists, biologists and earth scientists each bring their unique take on how the landscape and the life it supports have been crafted by natural and human events.'

Cork University Press have also published an accompanying book to the series, which is available to purchase now.
