Central Bank issues terrifying JFK commemorative silver coin

Fancy spending up to €130 on a €10 coin? To be fair, it is a special edition commemorative silver coin featuring the face of former US President John F Kennedy so you're unlikely to feel short-changed.

What you will feel though, is utter terror. Seriously, look at it:

The coin is being issued by the Central Bank to mark 50 years since the president's visit to Ireland. 25,000 silver proof coins (like the one above) and 10,000 smaller, gold proof coins are being minted, with the larger coin going for €50 and a two-coin set, featuring both the gold and silver proof pieces, being sold for €130.

Each coin comes in its own presentation box and display case, with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

We reckon they're worth it for the front alone, which bears a striking resemblance to the front of the old one punt coin.
