Riverdance and Brian Kennedy promoting Riverdance: On Screen at Connolly Station
This morning, (the 11th July) in the early hours of 8am, the Riverdance boys and Brian Kennedy serenaded and danced for the early commuters of Connolly Train Station.
The hustle and bustle of Connolly Station this morning
The performers were all there to promote The Gathering's Riverdance on Screen which is taking place in Merrion Square on the 20th July.
The one-off open-air concert will open it's gates at 7pm for this two-part outdoor event kicking off at 8pm with performances from Brian Kennedy (soloist of Riverdance on Broadway) and his band. At 9:15pm the sounds of a live orchestra accompanying a screening of highlights from the 19-year history of Riverdance will echo through the streets of Dublin. Special guest appearances will include singer songwriter Eleanor McEvoy performing to the original inspirational score as well as the cream of Irish musicians, and Riverdance’s original leading lady, Jean Butler.

Riverdance at the Park & The Gathering Céilí
On top of that, on Saturday 20 July between 2 and 4:30pm, Riverdance will take over Merrion Square West in Dublin for a free fun-filled day of music and dance
A final practice session for the Longest Line Record Attempt (described below) will commence at 2pm followed by a super-sized street céilí led by professional Riverdance dancers and musicians jumping into action at 3pm.
Meanwhile, in the park, throughout the day there’ll be face-painting, arts & crafts, Irish dance and music workshops with food and refreshments and lots of other activities for families.
Riverdance – The Longest Line Record Breaking Attempt
At 12 noon on Sunday 21st July, join over 2000 people from near and far as they gather along the banks of The River Liffey with the stars of Riverdance in this exciting event between Sean O'Casey Bridge and Beckett Bridge.
Be there to witness Riverdance – The Gathering, breaking the current world record for Riverdance The Longest Line held by Nashville, Tennessee, USA, bringing it home to Dublin. Feet will be tapping, the music will be pumping, and crowds will be cheering, all to the sound of Riverdance. You can still register to be part of this unforgettable gathering but for those who don’t feel up to the dancing challenge, there’s still an opportunity to be part of it.
