AMANDA PALMER & The Grand Theft Orchestra play The Academy this Thursday, July 18 and thanks to MCD and The Academy, you can be there.

Special guests on the night include Gavin Friday, Jherek Bischoff and The Simple Pleasure.

Amanda is of course even more infamous this week for the release of her blogpost My Open Letter to the Daily Mail and video Dear Daily Mail. Sincerely, Amanda Palmer about the Daily Mail article of her in Glastonbury this year.

Amanda Palmer lead singer, pianist, lyricist and composer for the 'Brechtian punk cabaret' duo the Dresden Dolls, is the main creative force behind Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra.

Palmer released her album 'Theatre Is Evil' which is her first studio album since breaking ties with major label following Who Killed Amanda Palmer.

This album, which features collaborations with a group of musicians dubbed The Grand Theft Orchestra was funded by fans through a campaign on the pledge-based fundraising site Kickstarter.

The project's original goal of $100, 000 was exceeded tenfold, with over a million dollars in pledges being collected. This show is going to be historic, loud and beautiful... Palmer is psyched to re-incarnate.

Amanda Palmer also recently did a talk for TED called 'The Art of Asking' which has had over 2.5 million views on the TED site and YouTube combined.

Don't miss Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra at The Academy on Thursday 18th July. Tickets €20.00 including booking fee are on sale now from www.ticketmaster.ie and all Ticketmaster outlets.
